Carsten Sørensen, who lives in Denmark, Europe, was diagnosed with IgG4-related disease in 2021 at age 47, shares how persistent abdominal pain, recurrent infections, and a delayed diagnosis eventually led to the discovery of IgG4-related disease.

I had some dull pain in what I call the solar plexus, the central upper part of my body, but having problems with the acid reflux, I thought that that might be the cause of it.
But otherwise I went to the doctor. I called the general practitioner, I think it’s called. He agreed and upped my doses of this acid prohibitor.
But I also had some pain in, should we call it my manly parts, in the right side. He examined this also and said it was quite common for men to have what’s called the varicocele. Many men have this, and it was nothing to worry about.
But then we go to early summer 2020 and I have several infections in my testicles and this pain in my abdomen, and it just got very intolerable.
